The Bleyer Rock'n'Roll shoes are light and stylish lace-up dance shoes with brogue detailing. With their retro look, and various colour, finish and sole options as standard, the Bleyer Rock'n'Roll is a bestseller. If these options are not enough you can even make a Special Order with options customised to your requirements.

The Bleyer Rock'n'Roll is available in black & white, brown & white and all black in a soft matt leather finish as standard. The synthetic patent finish can also be purchased in black & white. The synthetic patent uppers are not made from animal products which, when selected with any sole other than suede, makes them a popular vegan choice.

If you're looking for a unique colour combination, we can help. You can make a special order with ANY colour combinations on the Bleyer Rock'n'Roll, special orders are one-off productions so they take a little longer and there is a surcharge, place your order above or get in touch to find out more!

The Bleyer Rock'n'Roll is a lace-up shoe, available with either matt or patent finish. On the standard production shoe, the black or brown material on the uppers of matt finish shoes are soft leather, whilst the white section is made from a soft and durable matt leather alternative called Durasoft. The patent uppers are all synthetic.

There is integrated heel-padding, but Bleyer recommend purchasing the Bleyer Insole with these shoes to soften the impact on your joints whilst dancing.

The Bleyer Rock'n'Roll has a single flat sole to help you stay closer to the ground and feel the floor whilst dancing. The Rock'n'Roll can be selected with the Bleyer Special Sole or the Bleyer Suede Sole in most sizes as standard.

    Suede Soles

Suede leather soles are great for dancers of all abilities because you can moderate how they feel for dancing. For a zippy feel simply let the suede picks up dust of the floor and your suede soles will develop a shiny surface. If they ever get too quick for you, brush the suede with a wire brush to get the fibers working harder during your dancing. This increases resistance, thus slowing down your movement and giving you a better chance to stay balanced. It is advised that you do not wear suede soles outside as it can damage them, and they are really tricky to dance in if they get moist as the typical smooth gliding feel disappears.

    The Spin Spot Sole

The Spin Spot Sole is a single-piece flat sole, which helps you stay closer to the ground and feel the floor whilst dancing. The sole has remained popular with jive and swing dancers for many years and is ideal as a practice shoe. It has enough movement to help you slide, swivel and glide easily across the floor, as the name suggests there is even a spin spot! It will give you more sure-footed confidence than leather or suede, which makes it great for aerials. It is made from a special non-staining, PU composite. This sole will tolerate being worn outdoors, and can be wiped down ready for dancing. It is only available in Bleyer sizes 34-47, so for models where sizes 48-50 are produced, the White EVA sole (flat) is used as the standard alternative. These soles are Vegan friendly.

The Bleyer Rock'n'Roll is available as standard in Bleyer size 35 to 50 (covering UK 2 to 13). Bleyer shoes are marked with European sizes and they tend to fit approximately one size small compared to typical European sizes. So, for example if you normally wear a European 38 you would probably want a Bleyer 39.

The Bleyer Rock'n'Roll style are popular with ladies and gentleman alike. These shoes are produced on a Unisex last and fit the same as other Bleyer models including the Boogie Woogie, Lindy Lace and Saddles, most people find these shoes a comfortable fit. Men with particularly wide feet might prefer to try shoes produced on the Mens last, such as the Bleyer Charleston or Bleyer Balboa.

Bleyer sizes are listed first in our drop-down options. Bleyer sizes tend to be consistent across the full product range so if you know your "Bleyer size", please select that option. We have used our experience to translate the Bleyer sizes to other commonly used sizing systems. These translations are for guidance and cannot be treated as a guarantee of good fit. A returns policy is in place should replacements be required. As a UK based retailer, our Bleyer/UK size translations are most thoroughly tested.

Due to the different sizing systems there are some, but not many, UK and US half sizes available. This is simply as a result of the translations, so if your UK/US foot size is a half size that is not listed we would normally suggest that you select the next half size larger. Although we are confident that these translations work for most people, this information is not a guarantee and should be used as a guide only.

My main Modern Jive & Lindy Hop Shoes for 14 years - Review by Derek Wilson on 23/10/2013

Exhalent Black & Wight shoes these are my main Modern Jive & Lindy Hop Shoes (although I have a pair of B&W leather & suede soled shoes) I use them in for normal wood, plastic & even aboard tiled dance floors. I have now bean using mine for 14 years using 3 or 4 times a week. They takes a bit to run in to do double spins at the beginning with them having black rubber soles, On dance weekends you can even work outside in them without affecting soles, even in rain as long as when you get inside you wipe your feet a few times on the door mat or carpet to get the wet off or you will find you cannot spin properly till they are dry underneath, I have just about worn them out and am now looking for the best price to get another pair to replace them.
